The mighty FM return with a new album in classic FM style! 12 years after their split in 1995, at Nottingham Rock City on 27th October 2007, after considering (and declining) multiple previous approaches from the organisers of a melodic hard rock all-dayer called the Firefest, Merv, Steve, Pete, Andy and Jem finally played together again in public for the first time.
With stage two of the group’s career about to begin, they were disappointed to accept the resignation of Andy Barnett. However, with an exciting new guitarist on board these plans are now firmly back on target. Brought into the band at Steve Overland’s suggestion, Jim Kirkpatrick was already a huge fan of FM so it was an honor to accept the chance of joining a group whose records he loved. Kirkpatrick was blooded at a low-key gig at Wigan’s Winstanley College in March 2009. All too aware of the way others have fallen at the same hurdle, FM have taken their time in completing a comeback disc, ‘Metropolis’, which drops in March 2010

The new generation of melodic rock has arrived !!
      
SERPENTINE was originally founded around award winning keyboard maestro, driving force and songwriter Gareth David Noon; lion-maned guitarist Christopher Gould and bassist Gareth Van Stone. Drawing their name from the mythical creatures and legends whose lore was passed down through the ages, their quest was to acquaint their peers with a genre of music that still resonates down the decades.The trio spent a lot of their time in the studio, working constantly to develop their songs into demos that would showcase the band’s true talent.
It was while making these demo’s that the band decided to complement the group with the experienced American vocalist Greg Flores, whose work they had heard via his previous band - the highly rated Kamera. Three short months later the fledgling recordings piqued the interest of Producer Chris Steinmetz whose credentials include Survivor, White Lion, Styx and Honeymoon Suite to name but a few.The initial results gained the band a great deal of interest,
Ultimately however working with a singer based in the US proved difficult and the quest for a new vocalist began. Enter the legendary Tony Mills of SHY and TNT fame .
Last Summer the group, having recruited the last pieces of the jigsaw in the shape of the prodigiously talented guitarist/vocalist John Clews and a drummer who can only be described as Keith Moon’s lost love-child - Charlie Skeggs, de-camped to M2 Studios in Wolverhampton. There under the guiding hand of Producer Mark V Stuart ( whose work with Magnum is well known ) together with whizz-kid Sheena Sear they produced a record that in October 2009 got the band signed to a worldwide deal with the German based AOR Heaven label.

::: AOR HEAVEN release: STAGE DOLLS - Always

26th of February is the date that everybody with an interest in rock music should make a note of, as this is the day when Stage Dolls – one of Norway's best bands through more than a quarter of a century – are releasing their seventh studio album. The title "Always" underlines that this is a band you always can trust. And simultaneously with the release, the band can mark the 25th anniversary of their debut album, "Soldier's Gun".

Life on the road has been almost endless for Stage Dolls since - especially in Norway, but between concerts the boys have found the time to visit Nidaros Studio – where they made their earlier records – and the result is their new, in total 7th studio album, "Always". Torstein Flakne co-produced it with Ronny Wikmark, who also mixed it with Stage Dolls' former producer, Bjørn Nessjø. The American back-up singers from their success album "Stage Dolls" are also featured, so everything suggests a classic Stage Dolls album.

::: AOR HEAVEN release: SHYLOCK - RockBuster

The story of a decade...and Shylock are back with their new album called “RockBuster”. The first step into business was done back in 2000 when Shylock was featured on the German Rock Hard sampler “Unerhört” with the debut song “Can’t Let U Go”. Just a few months later they finally found a label partner and released their self-titled album.
The second release was called “Pyronized”, and the four-piece drew their attention to the audience due to the quality of songs and numerous tour and live activities with bands such as Bonfire, Axxis, Shakra, Roger Chapmann, U.D.O., Primal Fear, Doro, etc.

“Welcome To Illusion” is the title of their third album. Rami Ali, well known drummer of Frontline/ Evidence One and State Of Rock, contributed all drum tracks at the studio. This production was released in Europe, Russia and finally in Brasil. Besides the impressive sound,  “Welcome To Illusion” turned out to be three times ‘album of the month’ in different online and print magazines.

Later, back in November 2004, Shylock released the song “Farewell” on MTM Music’s 10th anniversary sampler. This song was exclusively written for world known soccer star Thomas “Icke” Hässler. Thomas invited the band to perform his song at his farewell game at Cologne RheinEnergieStadion. About 20.000 people watched the gig live in the stadium and over 1.000.000 people even watched the event at TV. During the song-writing and pre-production session for “Devotion”, Shylock performed some more shows, e.g. at Bayern 3 radio’s Badetour with Right Said Fred, Adler’s Appetite (Ex Guns  ’n’ Roses), and they supported Bonfire on their “Double X” tour in Germany and Spain.
Right after the release of “Devotion” the band started with the production for the fifth album called “RockBuster”. With Ondrej Hurbanic, they finally found a suitable producer to give the songs power and a quite modern sound. “Rockbuster” contains 11 powerful songs and a fabulous cover version of Timex Social Club’s world-wide known track “Rumours”.

In December, 2009 Shylock released a new song on the fan CD of German’s soccer club „1. FC Nürnberg”.

FM spent 11 great years (1984-1995) releasing albums and touring all of Europe with the likes of Meat Loaf, Foreigner, Gary Moore, Status Quo, Magnum, REO Speedwagon and Bon Jovi and became Britain’s biggest AOR band! 14 years on and FM are back with a monster of a new album titled “Metropolis”

::: The return of GRAND ILLUSION! :::

After a four and a half year absence GRAND ILLUSION have decided to reunite and the boys also have a new album with the title, “Brand New World”, in the pipeline. The band core of Anders Rydholm, Peter Sundell and Per Svensson are intact and guests on their new album are Gregg Bissonette, Tim Pierce, Danny Jacobs, Roger Ljunggren and Kjell Klaesson.

"In 2005 we needed a break and to work with other people to develop as musicians. The core of GRAND ILLUSION started in 1986 (under the name Promotion). A lot of things has happened during the four years since the break up but now we all felt that it was time to get back together, have fun and make some great music. We have never before worked so hard on any album. Just having legends like Gregg on drums and Tim and Danny on guitar solos feels like magic. The band formula with strong melodies and over the top vocals are the same", says Rydholm.

We are also very proud to be back on the label where everything started. Georg Siegl and AOR Heaven helped us release our first album (PROMOTION – “Not for sale”) back in 1997 and now we look forward to join the Metal Heaven team. Georg and Monika have put together an impressive rooster and we feel very welcomed to their label.

AOR Heaven are happy to announce the signing of renowned American AOR band DRIVE SHE SAID. The collaboration will start with the release of a best of compilation due in May 2010. ANGELS OF BABYLON is a brand new line-up of metal stalwarts featuring former MANOWAR drummer Rhino, Arizona based power-metal vocalist David Fefolt, guitarist Ethan Brosh and  bassist David Ellefson. Their forthcoming debut album “Kingdom of Evil” comprises 10 new original songs, featuring cuts like “Conspiracy Theory”, “Second Coming” and “Apocalypse 2012”.

Rhino states: “I started compiling these songs many years ago but was patiently waiting for the optimum lineup to record and release an album like this. I was introduced to Fefolt, Ellefson and Brosh a couple years back, and they provided the inspiration to forge ahead and complete the album. Four years after the last FRONTLINE studio album „Circles“, time was ripe for STATE OF ROCK, the new band around FRONTLINE guitarist Robby Böbel. “Hutch” Bauer and Rami Ali, two old FRONTLINE comrades, jumped on board, so the only question left open was who could take the place behind the microphone. That was when label boss Georg Siegl pulled the strings and got in contact with Tony Mills (SHY/TNT).

After only three demo songs it was clear that the chemistry between the two songwriters, Robby Böbel and Tony Mills, was great. Their strengths complemented each other and pushed them to new horizons. It turned out instantly that this new band is about to become something special!

Their debut album, „A Point Of Destiny”, follows the slogan “75 % FRONTLINE + 25 % SHY = 100 % STATE OF ROCK”, as it combines the qualities of these two classic Melodic Rock bands: melodic vocals by Tony Mills at the times of SHY classics like “Excess All Areas” plus the unique guitar-licks by Robby Böbel.

In September Tony Mills came to Germany to put final touches on the album. The band used the opportunity and played some showcase-gigs in front of a handpicked audience to emphasize that STATE OF ROCK are a real band and not just another project. “A Point Of Destiny” will be released on January 29th, 2010 – a date that any Melodic Rock fan should mark in his calendar.
