BLUE TEARS

Blue Tars Band

BLUE TEARS began as a cover band in 1983 during their highschool school days. They played lots of Van Halen, Queen, Def Leppard and more. After 3 years, BLUE TEARS began writing their own music.Up to this point Gregg Fulkerson was not the singer, but the principle songwriter. The first song he took on as the lead singer was “Innocent Kiss”, a song that remains one of his favorites up to this point. That band at the time consisted of Gregg, Michael Spears, Bryan Hall and Charlie Lauderdale.

They were "discovered" by Jon Hornyak out of Memphis, TN. He took them signed to Left Bank Management in '89 and iterally overnight they had a record deal with MCA. The debut album was called "Blue Tears" which took several months to complete. The recording was done at Capitol Studios in Hollywood and produced by David Cole and being followed by live concerts on all the continent.

A couple of years after the first album, BLUE TEARS were once again getting ready to go into the studio for the new record - but that never happend. The music business changed so drastically in the early 90's that it stopped most Rock bands in their tracks. They shelved the music for the second record. Those songs were finally released in 2005 on two CD compilations. Of course, this was not "Blue Tears 2", just demos of the songs that would have been on the second record at that time.
The initial band broke up around 93'. Bryan and Michael have since founded their own band. When it came time to finally get back out there with a new record, they were in the middle of doing their "mayday ground" album. BLUE TEARS  turned to another friend, Bryan Wolski - a great bass player and singer

.The new album is called "The Innocent Ones" and marks the first studio album from BLUE TEARS in 16 years. It was recorded at the end of 2005 by Fulkerson at Alcatrazz Studios in Franklin, TN.
